Frequently Asked Questions What does “OC” mean on the Phantom 5 OC?OC stands for Onset Center, meaning the shaft is installed directly in line with the putter’s centre of gravity to reduce torque and face rotation. How does the Phantom 5 OC differ from the standard Phantom 5?The Phantom 5 OC offers near-zero torque and minimal toe flow, while the standard Phantom 5 has more traditional shafting and slightly more face rotation. Is the Phantom 5 OC forgiving on mishits?Yes. The compact mallet design offers greater stability and forgiveness than a blade, especially on off-centre strikes. Does the SCS insert affect distance control?Absolutely. The Studio Carbon Steel insert softens feel while promoting more consistent ball speeds across the face. Is this putter suitable for beginners? It can work well for beginners with a straight stroke, though many new golfers may prefer higher-MOI mallets with simpler alignment aids. The Scotty Cameron Phantom 5 OC Golf Putter delivers near-zero torque stability, premium feel, and tour-inspired craftsmanship — a superb choice for golfers who want a square, repeatable putting stroke with compact mallet confidence.
